My3LP

My3LP contains many features which enable you to record and monitor your professional development. The three areas in My3LP are:
  • My CNE points
  • My Resumes
  • My Professional Journal.

Each area provides individual features to assist nurses with ….

My CNE Points

Continuing Nurse Education (CNE) points are awarded to professional development activities which are designed to further your nursing career. RCNA recommends that nurses should aim to achieve 30 CNE points per year (ie 30 hours of professional development). If you achieve 30 or more CNE points per year RCNA will issue you with a certificate of achievement. If you achieve less than 30 CNE points per year RCNA will you with a certificate of participation for 3LP.

There are three main points to remember when recording your CNE points.
  • 1 CNE points is equivalent to 1 hour of learning
  • A maximum of 5 CNE points can be accrued per year towards journal readings
  • A maximum of 25 CNE points can be allocated to any one activity.

My Resume

RCNA recognises the importance of having access to your resume anywhere at anytime. To make this possible RCNA provides you with the resume function.

Here you have the ability to download a resume template, view a sample resume and upload an abundance of completed resumes. As well as storing your resumes online via My Resume you can also invite potential employers to view them. You are also provided with a counter to show you how many times your resumes have been accessed.

My Journal

The Professional Journal has been developed for you to record events and experiences from your work. You will be able to record facts and your impressions (thoughts and feelings) about what has occurred in your practice. The process of recording events and later reflecting on those events will allow you to explore the events in a structured and critical manner. By engaging in the process of reflection, it is possible for you to understand your practice in new ways. You become a reflective practitioner.
